Nairobi Wine Week, Festival Starts Saturday

Nairobi ‘s first annual wine week and festival is set to begin this weekend

Nairobi Wine Week & Festival, the first ever will kick off with a wine tasting event on Saturday 5th May and Sunday 6th May at J’s Fresh Bar & Kitchen, Westlands from 12 pm to 7 pm. The festival, a collaboration between EatOut Kenya and Israeli Wine distributor, Baraka Events is the first of its kind and will see wine lovers sample over 30 wines from 9 countries provided by 12 wine distributors and 15 wineries.

Baraka Events is an Israeli-Kenyan company working together to bring the best of Israeli products to Kenya. Its subsidiary, Baraka Israel imports top of the line food and beverages including wines, spices, olive oil and skin care products.

The two-day festival will kick off the Nairobi Wine Week which will be happening at over 30 participating restaurants in Nairobi from 7th to 13th May. Throughout the week, participating restaurants will be offering wine deals including a complimentary glass of wine for every main course, two for one deals on glasses of wine and percentage discounts on wine bottles for the seven days.

In partnership with Safaricom Platinum, Nairobi wine week (styled #Nairobiwineweek) will give diners the opportunity to enjoy wines from all across the globe including; Spain, Australia, South Africa, France, Italy, Portugal and many more. Other partners for this first edition include; Browns’ Cheese, Barclays Kenya, Casks & Barrels, Clique, KWV, The Wine Company, The Wine Shop, Belaire, Semfeb Ltd, Viva Global, Verum Kenya Ltd, UVA Wines, WOW Beverages, Le Decanter, Jumia Food and California Wines.

Tickets to the tasting event at J’s are available on ticketsasa.com for KSh. 1000 for early bird, KSh. 1500 for advance tickets inclusive of a box of fine chocolate, delicious cheese and cold cut platters and KSh. 3000 for connoisseur tickets inclusive of professional wine glasses, limited edition gourmet chocolate boxes, Sangria cocktails and a wine sorbet treat. There will be no tickets at the door.
