A bottle of Scotch whisky has sold for an eye-watering €1.7million at auction in London, leaving Sotheby’s experts gobsmacked. The so-called Holy Grail of whiskies, The Macallan Fine & Rare 1926, was the star of the show as more than 460 bottles from an American connoisseur’s private collection went under the hammer.
