The lower acidity of Chenin Blanc, in comparison to Sauvignon Blanc, has been a big factor in this variety’s growing popularity. While one can think of Chenin Blanc as sitting somewhere between a Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay, it also offers in itself a variety of styles. On the one end of the scale, you’ll find lighter styles with a fresh zest and crisp finish, while on the other end one can enjoy plump, ripe, rich, oaked examples.
