United at Nederburg under a starlit sky

Perfect weather, gorgeous gardens and a line-up of some of the best in Mzanzi music drew more than 2 300 visitors to Nederburg in Paarl to bid adieu to 2015 and welcome in 2016.

Families and friends, couples and singletons from the Cape, Jozi and from further afield came to delight in the sounds of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra accompanied by top-name artists including Blackbyrd, former Idols South Africa winner Elvis Blue, runner-up Lloyd Cele, and Sarah Theron.

This was Cape camaraderie at its elegant best. The crowds connected, picnicking and partying – making sure no one felt like a stranger among them.. From dusk to way past dark they celebrated the countdown. It was fun, it was fabulous and it was utterly festive!  Prolonging the switch-over from 2015 to 2016, all the artists united on stage for the very last song of the night, before the guests went their separate ways.

The annual New Year’s Eve Concert at Nederburg is one of the Cape’s most popular events, drawing people from all over the world. It’s not difficult to see why.
