Waverley Hills and the SAWi Algorithm of Excellence

Ask any wine farm and they will tell you there is a wide variety of competitions and tastings where you can enter your wines.

However, certain “tastings” doesn’t allow you to enter your wines.  Your wine have to be chosen by them in order to be considered for a rating/award.  This brings us to SAWi – South African Wine Index

As already mentioned in the heading, you can guess that they use a certain algorithm to rate/award the wines chosen by them. If a wine scores consistently, it becomes eligible to be rated and awarded by SA Wine Index.  As explained by SAWi – “It is drawn from blind tasting result outcomes for all wines having entered wine competitions over the last 10 years with scores of 93 points or higher.”

Waverley Hills is happy to say that three of our wines scored really well.
