Join the band wagon at Nuy Valley Feast

The Nuy Valley, a celebrated wine and olive region located along the Worcester Wine and Olive Route is celebrating its 6th annual festival on 10 May 2014.  Festivities will be hosted at the four Nuy Valley estates; Leipzig Country House, Nuy Winery, Willow Creek Olive Estate and Conradie Family Vineyards.  Adding to the fun atmosphere and country feel, wagon and tractor rides will provide patrons safe travelling between the different venues.

Leipzig Country House

At Leipzig, the menu will include German-themed food, Birkenhead draft beer and plenty local wine.  Guest will be treated to the flowing sounds of local muso, Francois Louw, while this festival will also see the release of the new Leipzig Pinotage.

Adrenaline junkies can work their muscles on the 5km/10km trail run and fun walk and winners will be awarded twelve month’s supply of Leipzig wines and other great prizes. To enter, contact Leipzig on [email protected] or 023 347 8422.

Nuy Winery

Nuy Winery, who celebrated 50 years of winemaking in 2013, invites everyone to taste their long list of award winning wines, while indulging in a laid-back day filled with scrumptious local foods and traditional spitbraai.  The tasting room is open from 09h30 to 15h00.

Willow Creek Olive Estate

Festivities will kick off with renowned singer/songwriter Jak de Priester on 9 May at 19:00.  For tickets and enquiries contact[email protected] or 0820963789.

Saturday morning entertainment will include a cooking demonstration by Jenny Morris, The Giggling Gourmet Chef, while a traditional Farmer’s Market at the grounds may pique plenty an interest.  Willow Creek’s many top olive products and other district wines can be tasted at their Deli, while the Willow Creek Bistro will provide local cuisine.

A safe kids’ area offers child-friendly entertainment, ensuring a pleasure filled day for all visitors.

Different to previous years, the well-known Willow Creek/Computer Mania mountain bike race will take place on Saturday 3 May and not during the course of the festival.

Conradie Family Vineyards

At Conradie Family Vineyards guests will enjoy traditional, mouth watering boerekos and freshly prepared sushi. Also available is the Bottomless wine (R50 pp, 18 years and older) and other wine tastings.

The Leopard Foundation as represented by Penhill Manor will offer visitors interesting information on these gracious animals, while Eagle Encounters situated on Spier Wine Estate, and in collaboration with Penhill Manor will present visitors the opportunity to photograph and interact with the raptors.

The Stormers VS Bulls SupeRugby game will be broadcasted on a big screen at 19:30.  For the little folk, this venue will also have a safe kid’s area.

Entry fee

Entry fee is R40 per person, per day and kids under 18 years enter for free.  Wine glasses are for sale at R20 per glass. Tickets and glasses can be purchased at any of the four venues before or during the event.
