As winter sets in, it’s the perfect time to prepare the Oyster Box Hotel’s famous Chicken & Prawn Curry, and pair it with Bouchard Finlayson’s delicious Missionvale Chardonnay 2016. A commanding wine with solid backbone and a lengthy, lingering palate, it offers complexity and structure as the perfect match to this hearty and fragrant dish.

Gourmands are invited to savour the union of distinguished wines and gourmet cuisine with a weekend of culinary excellence in a magnificent wilderness setting.

The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley and its associated terroir has consistently proven itself as one of the Cape’s most treasured Chardonnay locations. It is therefore fitting that Bouchard Finlayson takes the lead in showcasing it’s delicious vintages as part of International Chardonnay Day on 23 May 2019.

Since moving to the Western Cape one of my favourite things has been experiencing the abundance of gorgeous wine farms on our door step. We truly live in a magnificent part of the country! Late last year I stopped for a wine tasting at Bouchard Finlayson during a Hermanus trip, and their wines have been a firm favourite ever since.

After several weeks of exciting harvest activity in the Bouchard Finlayson vineyard, the grapes are in, the dust is settling and the focus returns to the cellar.

120km from Cape Town lies a glorious valley in Walker Bay, Hermanus. The Hemel-en-Aarde valley has been monikered by its celestial name for over 200 years. In this picturesque part of the world, rolling vineyards meet a thunderous ocean. Nothing could be more apt than the moniker ‘Heaven-and-Earth’.
