My Christmas stocking filler, MMIX: Biography of a Vintage, sails from Singapore at the end of the week. A continuation of my Emperor’s New Clothes Sour Grapes (Tafelberg 2008) fashion guide to the SA wine scene (with the Roman touch lifted from Eben Sadie), initial reaction to some advance copies leaked to opinion formers and friends has exceeded all expectations. The David Sylvester of SA fine art, Stefan Hundt, was clearly looking forward to reading his copy last week. Who knows, perhaps Sanlam will declare it investment grade!
