The number 100 is generally associated with achievements and the accomplishment of goals – the ideal and perfect number. A truly fitting number in the case of the Rietvallei JMB Chardonnay 2018. 

On the 30th of January, the South African Wine Index, in accordance with their algorithm based on wine competitions over the last decade, awarded Rietvallei’s JMB Chardonnay with 100 points- the perfect score!

Made from specially selected vines, these Chardonnay grapes were hand-picked at optimum ripeness. Only the free-run juice is transferred to new French oak barrels to begin the fermentation process. The wine was left on the oak for 10 months. 

The JMB Chardonnay provides elegant notes of toasty oak and ripe oranges. On the palate, the wine leaves a smooth finish with a pleasant hint of acidity at the end to finish off. 

The Rietvallei team is extremely blessed and honoured having a wine so closely related to the heritage of the wine farm, being awarded such an accolade.
