These sustainable coffee cups are made from actual coffee

Drinking three cups of coffee a day could add years to your life, but let’s not forget that only one in 400 disposable coffee cups in the UK is recycled, and there’s also evidence that decaf coffee could be destroying the ozone layer.

Luckily, people are coming along with sustainable alternatives to our caffeine-fueled wastefulness, like compostable pods for coffee machines, edible mugs and sports bras made from recycled coffee.

Each year the production of coffee generates millions of tonnes of waste, and Huskee wanted to turn that waste into something beautiful.

The Sydney-based company somehow came up with the idea of making coffee cups out of discarded coffee husk, which sounds like a crazy idea, but the result is a cup that we’d welcome into our kitchen with open arms.
