The new year is in full swing, and The Manor restaurant at Nederburg in Paarl is ready to roll out the red carpet to treat young and old with an array of fun happenings at the farm during February:

Local molecular biologist turns a staple into a celebration of African culture one ice cream scoop at a time.

A must-watch, Nederburg’s third episode in their explosive new food and wine series, I’ll Bring The Wine has just been released – and it’s as full of flavour, love and light as the festival it’s centred around.

I’ll Bring The Wine is a new five-part food and wine series that traverses the country in search of quintessential South African cuisine made with real flair. In this week’s episode, multi-award-winning chef and Midlands maven, Jackie Cameron is in the spotlight.

Take a pinch of Chef’s Table, add a dash of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, then a large helping of Mzansi magic, and you have the quintessential ingredients for a show like no other.

“Never underestimate the power of a simple detail. It can transform even the excellent into the exceptional,” says Niël Groenewald, MD of Nederburg. “Ask anyone who treasures their craft, who works fully with their hands, heart and mind, and they will tell you the same.”

No visit to the glorious Cape Winelands this summer is complete without a stop-over at Nederburg’s The Manor eatery and wine bar in Paarl, located in the historic 1800 manor house that’s flanked by lush gardens and a sprawling lawn area with towering trees providing pockets of cool shade.

Nederburg has been showered in medals awarded by the 2021 International Wine & Spirit (IWSC) Competition based in London, winning three gold and three silver medals across its multi-tiered range, with Cabernet Sauvignon taking centre stage.

Is there anything more quintessentially South African than a braai? Those in the know will tell you that it’s a way of life here in SA. It’s certainly not just about throwing some meat on the fire and hoping for the best, but rather a special ritual that centres around the joyful preparation and sharing of a tasty meal (usually involving some form of grilled meat) while spending time with family and friends, telling stories, discussing all and sundry, as well as remembering and knowing who we are and what we’re made of as South Africans.

Head over to Nederburg’s The Manor to experience this popular Paarl eatery’s delicious take on ‘Steak Thursdays’, on offer every Thursday for lunch and dinner, at only R180 per person, including a glass of award-winning red wine.
