I’ll be sad to miss the 25th anniversary dinner of Veritas, SA’s largest wine show, this evening. The food from celebrity chefs Bertus Basson and David Higgs will likely make the Eat Out Awards look like school meals and they do run a complimentary Brandy Bar for those tired of whites only Sauvignon Blanc.
But my only rule of the freebee circuit is never cancel a function already accepted if a better offer comes along. In my case, the first acceptance went to the Elim Wine Festival
and I’m looking forward to fantastic food and wine in God’s own country.
