PORTLAND, Ore. – Widmer Brothers Brewing received the most valuable pollution prevention award from the Environmental Protection Agency and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Tuesday. With the help of grant funding and an Oregon State University engineering graduate, they developed a system to divert brewing yeast to be repurposed. They also implemented a system to reduce waste water and prevent overall waste at the brewery.
