The Bahamas reigns supreme in the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge 2020

Marv Cunningham from the Bahamas is the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge champion for 2020.

The Bishop, as he is fondly referred to by friends and fellow competitors, impressed this year’s judges with his style, charisma and Mas-Curried cocktail to become Angostura®’s  newest ambassador, as well as pocketing a cool US$10,000.

Cunningham, who has been bartending for over 20 years and is a two-time winner of the Caribbean Bartender of the Year Award at Taste of the Caribbean, also claimed the prize for best rum cocktail at the competition which took place at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Port of Spain this past Saturday.

The Bahamian’s Mas-Curried cocktail was inspired by the trend towards culinary cocktails while complementing the flavour profile of the iconic Angostura® 7-Year-Old Rum with its rich maple, chocolate, honey and toffee notes.

For the next two year, Marv will represent Angostura® as its Global Brand Ambassador, as well as serve as a Judge in the next AGCC finals.

Rohan Massie from Australia and Agung Satria from Vietnam came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
