The warm-blooded blues-riffs from some of South Africa’s foremost blues artists will heat things up at Backsberg Estate Cellars in Paarl this winter with this famous wine estate’s inaugural series of Brandy and Blues Evenings.

 

Backsberg Estate Cellars has once again been appointed as the official wine supplier to the public hospitality areas at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, one of the world’s leading jazz events, which will be held on 31 March and 1 April this year.

Backsberg Estate Cellars in Paarl has just launched it popular Merlot wine, this from the 2015 vintage which is currently being described as one of the greatest vintages in the modern history of the Cape winelands.

 

The vintage of 2016 will go down in the history of the Cape winelands as one of the hottest and driest on record.

A Backsberg Estate Cellars’ Cabernet Sauvignon from the comet 2015 wine year has just been released, underscoring the Cape wine pundits’ belief that this is one of the best vintages to date. According to Alicia Rechner, Backsberg’s wine-maker, an almost perfect growing season allowed the longer-hanging grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon to take on exceptionally complex varietal flavours which extended through to the final wine.
